PEACE CORPS HONOURS AVM MORGAN,OTHERS WITH SAP AWARD.

The Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN), accorded a special consultative status by the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), is a non-governmental and uniformed youth organization that focuses on working with the youth in getting to know them, their personalities, their dreams and aspirations, their fears, their failures, their successes and their passions with a view of building, harnessing and redirecting their productive energies towards the Socio-economic and Political advancement of the Nation.
Founded by a youth strategist, Amb. (Dr) Dickson A. O. Akoh, FCITr, FCPA on the 10th of July 1998, in Kaduna, Northern Nigeria. PCN, in its commitment to National Creativity, Peace and Youth Development in Nigeria. After dissipating a lot of energy into research work in a bid to enforce a functional and sustainable growth in youth development and re-orientation. Amb. Akoh observed that Nigeria hitherto is endowed with one of the best human and natural resources where the youth could use and attain their full potentials. He however identified the absence of a comprehensive and practical orientation programme which will serve as a social mechanism towards  meeting modern day challenges. This, in his findings, constituted an impediment to the positive development of the Nigerian youths. Hence he took the historic step of forming PCN with its motto as Discipline and Patriotic Services. This organization has grown to be a needful tool for several states in the federation in terms of security, youthful orientation and employment.

The vision and mission of PCN is encapsulated in the aims and objectives of the Corps which is to “Train, Educate and Re-orientate the Youths on their future leadership roles in the society, the Art of nation building, Respect for Constituted Authorities, the Rule of Law and Democratic Principle as well as imparting a high sense of citizenship and good leadership in the youths.”

Our spotlight today will be on one of Nigerians finest Air force officers and the erstwhile Chief of Defence Intelligence, AVM Monday Riku Morgan whom was conferred with a senior Advocate of peace (SAP) award by the peace corps of Nigeria.

Air vice marshall (AVM) Monday Riku Morgan  rtd, a man full of respect, humility, perseverance, hard-work and intelligence. It is no news that this patriot, nationalist and security scribe assumed several positions in the Nigerian air force but was risen to the peak of his career to serve as chief defense intelligence (CDI) in the president Muhammadu  Buhari’s regime, it will be of great interest to recall that this pragmatic and untwisted security colossus was one amongst the first persons to be appointed in this regime.
The appointment of AVM Monday Morgan by the Buhari’s administration was a great joy to the people Of Benue, middle belt and Nigeria at large due to his antecedents as a relentless strategist and intelligent tactician in security matters ,  his appointment as described by many is putting a square peg in a square hole, However a job well-done by the number one  citizen of the country in standing by his words of selecting capable hands in government positions and also appointing right thinking fellows to help  combat crime .i.e.  Tackling insurgency, kidnapping and militancy etc.

Acknowledgement
Buhari"s integrity clearly showed that the appointment of (AVM) Monday Morgan  was on merit along the other service chiefs, unlike in the past were merits were likely considered. Thanks to President Muhammadu Buhari for proving his words,
appointing our son as the chief of defense intelligence at that critical time reflects the unbiased character and true leadership brevity of president Buhari.
Nigeria, Benue and particularly the  Idomas are proud that their  son took the appointment seriously and committed himself by not wearing his values as badge but through his actions and conducts contributed largely to degrade the dreaded Islamic sect Boko  Haram, he would be conspicuously mentioned in the history books of Nigeria as a major player in the success recorded.
This award intends to recognize and celebrate the efforts of those who have worked tirelessly to end conflicts of any kind and promote the culture of peace.

UNCONDITIONAL

Hello folks, welcome to another time with yours truly. I want to write how grateful I am that you found the time of day to read my works. I am so grateful. Please take the time to check out the previous articles and let me know what you think at the comment section below. The topic I want to write on today looks like the title of an 80’s Rhythm and Blues song but today, I want to talk about something that is starting to become a foreign concept in our society today. That is, “unconditional attachments”. If you go through the previous links in this blog, you will find that I have written similar topics to this but I just want to reiterate on this subject matter. As usual, I like to be balanced in all my write ups but I want to talk about how the balance of unconditional attachments has affected our society negatively.

DOUBLESPEAKING

Hello once again folks and welcome to my blog. Today I want to write about something which will lead to something that will make that “something” meaningful. The “something” want to talk about is, double-speaking. This is a term I just leant in the book I am reading right now which is POINT MAN by Steve Farrar. According to how I understood it, double speaking is when we minimize the gravity of a negative word to make it more palatable to the ear. To make my point clear, here are a few examples. We call Adultery which is a “harsh” word and replace it with “Affair”, Fat as “Big Boned”, and Fornicating as “Testing the Waters”.

THE X-MAS FACTOR

Hello folks, hope you are having a wonderful day? Before I get to the topic at hand, I just want to say, SEASONS GREETINGS or MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR. Today, I want to talk about the X-Mas Factor. We are in a period where everyone wants to shorten long words to make things easier to pronounce but the sole purpose of this article is, there are some words that should not be just “pushed behind the queue” because doing that will make the meaning the word useless. Let us take a look at the word X-Mas. In mathematical terms, X symbolizes the “Unknown Variable” in an equation. Why should we replace Christ with X; as if we don’t know who and what we are celebrating? This is so annoying when I think about it.
