HAPPY NEW YEAR FAMILY

Hello and welcome to another brand new year. I don't intend to write any long piece today. I just want to say that you should look at 2017 as another chapter in your life and every day, week and month of this year as pages you have to fill. Fill these "pages" with good memories and wise decisions.

THE X-MAS FACTOR

Hello folks, hope you are having a wonderful day? Before I get to the topic at hand, I just want to say, SEASONS GREETINGS or MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR. Today, I want to talk about the X-Mas Factor. We are in a period where everyone wants to shorten long words to make things easier to pronounce but the sole purpose of this article is, there are some words that should not be just “pushed behind the queue” because doing that will make the meaning the word useless. Let us take a look at the word X-Mas. In mathematical terms, X symbolizes the “Unknown Variable” in an equation. Why should we replace Christ with X; as if we don’t know who and what we are celebrating? This is so annoying when I think about it.

STATING THE OBVIOUS

Hello again and welcome to the iExcel360 blog. I am so happy to have you reading this little piece of mine because it shows that you have taken interest in my work. Please take your time to review other articles I have written and let me know what you think. Today, while I was doing my regular Wikipedia reading, I stumbled into an article about a movie called “Zulu”. Before I get to the crux of the matter, I would like to give you a summary about this movie. This movie was made in 1964 and tells a (sort of) fictional story about the defeat of the British army at the hands of Zulu warriors in one part of South Africa. The Zulus armed themselves with the ammunition of the dead British Soldiers and proceeded to advance and wipe out the entire British Army. The British know from the very beginning that the battle will be a losing one but they still got the courage to fight and rescue civilians that were in the line of fire. During the movie, one of the soldiers “Stated the Obvious

WHY AM I WHAT I AM

Hello people, welcome once again to another beautiful day. First of all thanks for clicking on this link and viewing this article. Please take your time to review other articles I have written on this blog and let me know what you think on the comment section. Today I want to write about this sensitive question that I ask myself sometimes. “Why am I what I am?” I am sure you have asked this question at least once in your life. The simple answer is, I am what I am because that is who I am. I will try to keep this article short and simple. Life itself is in stages. You are born, you learn to walk speak and think. Later on, you are educated by both secular (Primary, secondary and Tertiary education), Spiritual (Christian, Muslim and other traditions) and Societal education. These stages of education whether you know it or not, make up who you are as an individual. But please take note that despite what you learn from society, the main component that makes you who you are is d

THE ILLUSION OF LIFE

Hello beautiful people and welcome to my blog which contains the innermost thoughts of my head. Today I want to get a little realistic on you. I want to write about the illusion of life. Every day, you wake up in the morning pray to God (Christians), brush your teeth, take your bath and go about your day and it seems like an endless circle of doing the same thing day in day out. Today I was chatting with my mother and she told me something about life that I want to share with you. Life itself is an illusion. You will see someone who will struggle all his life, just to get a piece of paper. This piece of paper could include a degree, money, savings bonds etc and at the end of the day he/she ends up six feet under the ground. Please bear in mind I try to be balanced in all my write-ups; money and degrees are not bad in fact I have a degree in Mass Communication. That is why I am able to write. But we are so focused in the illusion that life offers; you should be the you, you were me

THE WRONG KIND OF RIGHT

Hello once again, sorry for the long absence; I have been on a “personal retreat” trying to jolt the creative outlet of my brain. Today, I want to write about the common misconceptions brought about in movies that are being incorporated by our society. Today, I am going to get physical on this article citing various trends that is affecting our society negatively. What is right and what is wrong? This is a pretty peculiar question that man has tried to answer since the beginning of time. If what I am doing is wrong, then why does this feel so good? And if what I am doing is good, why do I still feel the same? Well that does not happen always. The difference between right and wrong is as clear as day. If you do what is right, you will feel better about it and the guilt of it will not scar you but doing what is wrong may have long lasting consequences that might outlive you. Today, I want to talk about the vices that plague our society and the vices that are seen as right when t

THE SLOW POISON

Hello once again and welcome to another time with me and my crazy thoughts. Today I want to write about a poison that kills faster than cyanide and slower than Thallium. That poison is called UNFORGIVENESS. I am sure you might be reading this and saying this guy is here again with his “moralistic crap” but please bear with me as you read this piece. Have you ever thought of killing someone who has offended you? Have you ever thought of getting even with that boyfriend/girlfriend who promised you FOREVER and now it is “For-NEVER”? Well, I want to tell you that you are killing yourself and no one is worth it. Un-forgiveness can be likened to corrosive acid in a metal barrel. It does not immediately chip away the metal but with time, it not only chips away the barrel but also other factors like rust set in, rendering the barrel useless.

THE GIFT OF “LOSING”

Hello once again and welcome to what I can hope is another eventful and fulfilling day for you and if not, I humbly suggest that you count your blessings. I have been writing some weird topics like The Fight Club and the Thin Line Series but today I want to write about another weird topic which is the gift of LOSING. Sure you will say, “I am not a loser, I am a winner” well, I would like to inform you that if you have not lost, you have not learned. I will explain the last sentence during the course of this article so keep your eyes peeled for pointers. I am a big fan of action movies especially, ones that involve martial arts. You will see the protagonist who is confident in his/her skills because no one in the country can beat him/her. Then all of a sudden, a foreigner with superior skills breaks the protagonist’s spirit by giving him a humiliating defeat. The protagonist sulks for a while and all of a sudden picks up the courage/humility to seek help from a martial arts

MUSIC: HEART AND SOUL

Hello once again and welcome to my blog. In case you are reading this blog for the first time, I just want to say how happy I am that you are reading my inner most thoughts on certain subject matters. If you look below or press the PREVIOUS hyperlink, you will find other articles that I have written. So, sit back and enjoy the thoughts of a free thinker. Today I want to talk about music and its connection to the heart and soul. If you go to my previous articles I wrote something similar to this. This article is more like a continuation than a fresh one. Music to me is life. Without music, my heart and soul would be just “BLAH” or empty. Music is an effective way of relaying a message.

VIRGINITY: VIRTUE OR BURDEN

Hello and welcome to my blog. If you are reading my article for the first time, I am humbled that you took the sweet time out of your busy schedule to read my blog. Well I hope you enjoy this topic. If you have any questions, comments, or criticisms, my contacts are below this article. Today I want to write about a phenomenon that is becoming extinct in our society, that is, VIRGINITY. According to by trusty English Dictionary app, a virgin is “a person who has never had sexual intercourse, or sometimes, one who has never engaged in any sexual activity at all".

TEMPTATION

First of all, good day to you all and thank you for clicking on my link; it means a lot to me. Please if you have the time, read my previous articles and let me know what you think. Today, will want to talk about a very important phenomenon that is common with both the male and female species that is, TEMPTATION . According to English Dictionary App, temptation is defined as “pressure applied to your thinking designed to create wrong emotions which will eventually lead to wrong actions”. I have come to agree with this particular definition because if you are a human being born of a man and woman, you will always feel the pressure to do the wrong thing because, whether you want to admit it or not, doing the wrong thing is more appealing than doing the right thing. We live in a world where we are attracted to what we see with our eyes and don’t care to listen to what our conscience is saying. The slogan “if it feels right, do it” is now the norm of the day. To yield to temptation

The Evolution from Boyhood to Manhood (A Father’s Day Tribute)

Happy father’s day to you all, today I want to talk about the evolution from boyhood to manhood. So please, enjoy. Every man was once a boy, born of the union between a man and a woman. Like every other boy he grew his first set of teeth, danced to the latest pop culture of his time and related with other children of his age, but little does he know that times like that do not last forever. During his boyhood stage, he makes a lot of mistakes, gets into a lot of fights and listens to the philosophies (including Christianity) of his age grade in an attempt to discover himself.

WOMEN (Wonders of the World Series)

Hello once again to another beautiful day. I really hope it is beautiful for you because today, I will be writing about a very important subject that titillates the appetite of the male species (me included) and that is, WOMEN. I should have brought this topic up on mother’s day but it skipped my mind but I would just love to air it out with my words, how much I appreciate a woman. First, I would love to give kudos to the first woman in my life and that is (drum roll please), my MOTHER. She is the inspiration on how I look at women today that is why despite my default male make-up, I have no choice but to respect women. I am sure you have heard about the “Ying and Yang”. Basically, this term is all about the direct opposites in the universe. Man/woman, good/bad, happiness/sadness etc. But the main subject of this term is balance between these opposites. A woman is supposed to be the direct opposite of a man and a man is supposed to be the direct opposite of a woman. I have to admit

THE POWER DRUG

Hello once again, welcome to another day in the life. Hope you are doing alright? Today I want to talk about the POWER drug; the confidence little power can give to an individual. I am sure you might be asking, “What inspired this guy to write on this?” well, I just experienced something today and it brought back memories on my experiences with people who were given responsibilities and they saw it fit to use this responsibilities (authority) to abuse people; letting them know that “they run things” in their vicinity. Let’s take a few examples. Imagine a class representative using his position to intimidate girls to become his “girlfriends”. The class representative promises quick submission of their assignments or claims to have a good reputation with the lecturers and promises to switch papers or help her with her examinations if she agrees to be in a relationship with him. This guy also uses a similar technique on the guys to bring them under his control. It’s Scary huh?

LOVE: GAME OR NOT

Hello once again, this is your weird friend Ogah and I am here to write about what goes on in this crazy head of mine. Here is my take on the above subject matter love. But before I go on I would briefly like to talk about what other people have told me about this elusive four letter word. They say love ‘Died with the Titanic”. Because of our nature as humans, these set of people have become paranoid about other humans and the concept of love is more like a fairy tale. They believe that love is a game to be played between the “experienced” and the “naive”. These “experienced” people know the exact words to say to the opposite sex to get through their defences. They are “like wolves in sheep cloths” they can say anything from little complements to overblown gestures just to win the heart of the other person. The experienced ones see this as a game. And you will ask me, what is their end game? The answer differs from “cash” to “kind”. Some of these experienced lovers are in for

THE “CANDY CRUSH” MENTALITY

Hello again people, I hope you have enjoyed reading my articles online. Please remember to comment on the box below and log on to my facebook page www.facebook.com/iexcel360 for more inspirational quotes and words from yours truly. Today I want to talk about the CANDY CRUSH mentality. For those of you who are conversant with this game, you might think of words like sweet, sugar crush etc. But now I want to talk about the addictive tendencies of this particular game and how we can use the same addictive tendencies in a positive light. I want to start by saying that I am a huge fan of the game. I play it every day. I love the challenge of the levels and the fact that I will not quit until I have finished a level and move on to the next one. But I have realized one thing, the game is so addictive to the point where people just play and not realize the sole purpose of the game itself. A female friend once told me, “always read between the lines”. The game itself preys on our NEVER

THE THIN LINE BETWEEN FEAR AND RESPECT (THE THIN LINE SERIES)

Hello folks, hope you’ve had a wonderful day? I hope you have enjoyed my previous articles. If so, thanks a lot for reading them. It means a lot to me. Today I will be writing about the thin line between Fear and Respect. This is another part in the THIN LINE series. The thin line series for those who are reading this for the first time, is a series I made up which talks about the lines men cross which could be detrimental to their lives. First of all let us talk about fear. According to my Dictionary App, Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by actual or perceived danger. Another definition depicts fear as a sense induced by someone or something. The synonyms of fear include dread, phobia, scare, anxiety and apprehension. As for me I am going with the second definition that, Fear is a feeling of being kept captive by someone because that person has or can do something to you. So in order to get on his good side you will do all he asks.

THE “HAPPY” DRUG

Hello everyone, today I want to talk about the “Happy Drug”. In this context, I will be talking about the extreme/risky stunts people do to find happiness. I know there is a saying that you should live your life like it is your last but have you ever stop to think about the choices that you make? Some people live life carelessly all because they want to be “happy”. To find happiness, they resort to doing unfathomable things to themselves and in this piece, I‘ll be talking about some of the stunts people pull to make themselves happy. But before I begin, I want to talk about my definition of the word “Happy”. According to me, it is just a feeling of freedom and whatever makes you smile. The feeling of freedom is just like the song HAPPY by Pharrell “feeling like a room without a roof”.

THE FIGHT CLUB

Hello once again, beautiful people. Today I want to talk about the “The Fight Club”. I am writing this piece in reference to the famous Brad Pitt movie with the same title. Before I begin, I will like to start with a brief synopsis of the movie “The fight Club”. This movie is about a character Brad Pitt who is a charismatic activist who owns a fight club and encourages its members to transfer their anger towards society to themselves through violence. He talks about the unfairness of society and how the government limits our freedom to speak, what we hear and the kind of clothes they should wear. The members of this club are regular folks who are fed up with life and they get-off of each other by beating each other senseless. The main character himself is a lazy bum who has a wrecked apartment but is charismatic enough to amass quite a following.

THE THIN LINE BETWEEN JEALOUSY AND RESENTMENT (THE “THIN LINE” SERIES)

Hello once again, today I want to discuss  a trend that is as old as the creation of man which is jealousy and how it has been mistaken for resentment. The topic of jealousy takes various shades and colours from the jealousy of a lover, the jealousy of a specific gift to the jealousy of a person’s success. The reason why I am writing this is to tell you that being jealous is ok, but don’t let it grow into resentment. I know you might say “hey aren’t those the same?” but they are totally different things and in this piece, I will tell you the difference between the two. My definition of Jealousy is an advanced form of admiration for someone when they do something or perform a feat which you are unable to do. For instance let us take two male singers one is a high pitch singer who can even use the “whistle” technique of singing and the other singer who has a baritone voice capable of shaking the bones of any listener. The high pitched singer could be jealous because he does not have

YOU ARE NOT “NORMAL”

Hello once again, today I want to write about the word “Normal” and how it relates to our young ones and by young ones, I am talking about our teenagers who have been pressured into doing things that our society deems “Normal” which ideally is considered wrong. On the next part of this series, I will be talking to full grown adults which also include me. I will be talking about some of the vices that affect our teens these days. Mind you, I am not a scientist. What I am about to write is what I have observed in my present locale. So please if you know any other vice, feel free to leave them at the comment section of this blog.

Words of Wisdom for the New Month

Hello folks, welcome to the end of the first month of the year and the beginning of the second month of the year 2016. At this point we can say that this year is not new anymore and we can finally get off the couch and do some work and exercise our brains. The brain is said to be the hard drive of the human body which stores information/releases information to the entire body. There is a popular saying “You cannot give what you don’t have”. If your brain is filled with nothing, you won’t be able to give anything to your society.

THE “SINK OR SWIM” SITUATION OF AN ARTIST

Hello people, welcome once again to my blog, today I want to talk about the “sink or swim” situation an artist faces when he/she performs on stage. This time, I am writing from my own personal experience as a music director in my local church here in Nigeria. I have two main reasons for writing this piece. The first is to help others to overcome the bane of every artist called “stage fright”. The second reason is more of a selfish one. I am writing it to remind myself why I do what I do and encourage myself to do it. Alright, imagine you are in a vast ocean, and your boat has a slight crack at the bottom. In that situation, you can only sink and drown or hang on to the nearest driftwood you can find and swim till you find land. This is what happens every time an artist gets on stage to perform. Those who have made the decision to swim are those who are confident in their skills (driftwood) and swim across the ocean of onlookers who are looking up to you for something. On the other

Happy New year family, how are you doing? I know this is coming a little late but hey, the year is still fresh so, Happy New Year!!!! I don't have much to talk about right now, but I will like to say that you should be the best in everything that you lay your hands on. The Former Minister of Education came to my school several years ago and I am going to tell you what he told us "In Everything you want to do, be the best". So here is my New Year message to you.
